Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

Journal of Intelligent Systems and Information Technology (JOISIT) is an open-access, peer-reviewed journal publishing original research articles, review papers, and case studies in the fields of intelligent systems and information technology. Authors are invited to submit high-quality manuscripts that have not been previously published and are not under consideration elsewhere.

1. Manuscript Types

JOISIT accepts:

  • Research Articles – original findings with clear methodology and discussion.

  • Review Papers – comprehensive summaries of specific topics, highlighting recent developments and future directions.

  • Case Studies – practical implementations or applications of intelligent systems and IT in real-world contexts.


2. Language

  • Manuscripts must be written in English or Bahasa Indonesia.

  • Authors should ensure clarity, conciseness, and correct grammar.

  • Non-native English speakers are encouraged to seek professional language editing before submission.


3. Manuscript Structure

The manuscript should follow this general structure:

  1. Title – concise, informative, and reflects the content.

  2. Author(s) Name and Affiliation – full name(s), institution, city, and country.

  3. Abstract – 150–250 words summarizing the objectives, methods, results, and conclusions.

  4. Keywords – 3–5 keywords relevant to the manuscript.

  5. Introduction – background, research problem, objectives, and significance.

  6. Related Work / Literature Review – relevant previous research.

  7. Methodology – detailed methods, tools, datasets, and procedures.

  8. Results and Discussion – findings supported by figures/tables, with interpretation.

  9. Conclusion – summary of findings, implications, and future work.

  10. Acknowledgments (optional).

  11. References – formatted according to APA 7th edition.


4. Formatting Guidelines

  • Manuscripts should be submitted in Microsoft Word (.doc/.docx) format.

  • Paper size: A4, single column.

  • Font: Times New Roman, size 12 pt, 1.5 line spacing.

  • Margins: Top 3 cm, Bottom 3 cm, Left 3 cm, Right 3 cm.

  • Figures and tables must be clear, numbered consecutively, and placed within the text.

  • Equations should be written using an equation editor.


5. Citation and References

  • All in-text citations must appear in the References list, and vice versa.

  • Use APA 7th edition referencing style.

  • Example:

    • In-text: (Smith, 2023)

    • Reference list: Smith, J. (2023). Artificial intelligence in healthcare. Journal of AI Research, 12(3), 45–60. https://doi.org/xxxx


6. Submission Process

  • All manuscripts must be submitted via the JOISIT Online Submission System.

  • Authors must register and log in to the journal’s website to submit their manuscripts.

  • The submission must include the main manuscript file and copyright transfer agreement.


7. Peer Review Policy

  • JOISIT applies a double-blind peer review process.

  • Each manuscript is reviewed by at least two independent reviewers.

  • The review process typically takes 4–8 weeks.


8. Publication Ethics

  • Manuscripts must be free from plagiarism. JOISIT uses plagiarism detection software to verify originality.

  • Authors must disclose any conflict of interest.

  • All authors must have significantly contributed to the work.


9. Article Processing Charges (APC)

  • For the initial period, JOISIT does not charge any publication fee.

  • Future APC policies will be announced on the journal’s website.
